The story centers on (Adam Sandler), a womanizing bachelor, and Larry Valentine (Kevin James), a widowed father of two. After Larry saves Chuck’s life during a routine call, Chuck feels indebted to him. Larry discovers a legal loophole: he cannot name his children as primary beneficiaries on his life insurance policy unless he is married. He convinces Chuck to enter into a domestic partnership to secure his children's future.
