Clothing is frequently used to project wealth, status, or a specific body silhouette.
Naturism puts this into practice. When you enter a naturist environment—a beach, a resort, or a club—the visual hierarchy of the clothed world dissolves. Without the armor of designer labels, waist-trainers, or padded push-up bras, the playing field is leveled.
We live in a world of "fitspo" (fitness inspiration) quotes, Instagram filters, and airbrushed magazine covers. We are constantly told that our bodies are projects—things to be fixed, tightened, whitened, and smoothed. Even the body positivity movement, ironically, can sometimes feel like another performance: "Look at me loving my cellulite in this perfectly lit mirror selfie."
