There is a common misconception that you can simply plug a VMFS drive into a Windows PC and read it like an NTFS or FAT32 drive. Windows does not natively understand the file system. If you try to open the disk in Disk Management, Windows will prompt you to "Initialize" it, which is a trap—doing so will destroy your data.
Do NOT initialize, format, or convert the disk when Windows prompts you. Cancel any "You need to format the disk" messages immediately. mount vmfs 6 windows hot
