Aasif (Akshay Kumar) lives a simple life with his family in a small town. Due to a family superstition, he is forced to dress as a woman (Laxmi) for a religious ritual. Unbeknownst to him, a vengeful transgender ghost named Laxmi—who has a traumatic past involving honor killings and land grabs—takes possession of his body.
It starts subtly—a gust of wind here, a shadow there—but soon escalates. Asif, usually the one to explain away the supernatural, finds himself powerless. He begins to exhibit bizarre behavior: his voice changes, his posture alters, and he starts applying bangles and makeup. The rational man is slowly consumed by an entity he swore did not exist.
